Another Attack on US Troops in the Middle East: The 59th Incident in a Month since Oct. 17

Overnight, U.S. forces in the Middle East were attacked for the 59th time in Iraq and Syria within a month.
Kurdish officials say an armed drone targeted an airbase in northern Iraq. It is unclear if anybody was hurt at this point.

Sabrina Singh, the deputy Pentagon press secretary, says, “There have been 27 attacks against US forces in Iraq and about 28 attacks in Syria since Oct. 17. 59 US personnel have received injuries in the TBI (traumatic brain injury) or non-serious categories since these attacks began. 27 personnel have been evaluated for TBI and 32 for other non-serious injuries. As of today, all 59 personnel have returned to duty.” Last week, Iran-backed Houthi fighters downed an American drone. The Pentagon countered the Houthis’ claim that the American drone was above Yemen.

Since the drone was shot down, the U.S. has not responded, and the Houthis have threatened to act against Israeli ships in the Red Sea.
A reporter asked Singh about the lack of response by the U.S. military, and whether it was inviting more aggressive action from the Houthis.

“I wouldn’t say that it’s inviting more aggressive or further response from the Houthis. We’ve seen the Houthis do this before,” Singh said. “We’ve seen one of our MQ-9s shot down before in the past. I’m not saying that we’re not going to respond. We always reserve the right to respond at a time and place of our choosing.”

Militant groups in the Middle East are up in arms against the U.S. over its Israel backing. The U.S. has rushed military support to Israel and bolstered forces in the region. The U.S. navy even intercepted missiles fired by the Iran-backed rebels last month.

“Trey”, a Fox News reporter live from southern Israel, informed that Israeli forces continue to operate around the Shifa hospital in the heart of Gaza City.

They say they’ve uncovered a tunnel on the complex and this yet still does not provide all of the details of what they say are currently underneath the Shifa hospital.

The Israelis say this is a headquarters for Hamas. They’ve shown these new images of the tunnel system underneath the hospital and weapons also in the radiology department, but we’ve yet to see any evidence of these headquarters.

Also, the Israelis have recovered the bodies of two hostages near the Shifa hospital. It was a devastating update for the Israeli people who continued to hold out hope for those nearly 240 hostages being held inside Gaza.

The first body they have announced was of a woman in her 60s named “Yehudit Weiss”. Weiss was taken from Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7 when Hamas fighters stormed into southern Israel in the largest attack on the country in decades. She has five children and was being treated for breast cancer. There was hope that she was alive, but again Israeli forces have recovered her body near the Shifa hospital.

The second body was of a 19-year-old Israeli woman soldier who was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 and has been murdered, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said in a post on X today. She was in the hostage video released by Hamas. Ultimately, they released a photo of her body, saying that she was killed in an Israeli airstrike.
